What Is a Circular Economy?

A circular economy involves recycling or reusing materials over and over again. This is a cornerstone of sustainable development, and the opposite to current ways of producing and consuming goods. In a linear economy, materials are extracted and then used to manufacture products which are subsequently discarded or incinerated. In a circular economy, humans can economise on the Earth’s resources while also reducing the amount of waste we produce. (Source: Swedish Society for Nature Conservation).
